SEA GOURMET ROUTE

The Izu Peninsula is renowned for its mild climate and surrounding sea. For this reason, numerous fishing villages and houses of former Japanese nobles can be found along the coast. Among them is the beautiful summer residence built for the imperial family, an architectural example of Japanese and Western tradition and still open to visitors.

After the visit, we recommend a trip to Numazu harbour, famous for its fish market and a wide choice of excellent, reasonably priced seafood restaurants.

This route is suitable for those who enjoy history, good food and those who are not used to cycling long distances.
